Suites refresh complete!
The Old Soldiers Home Foundation has been working with the team at Armed Forces Retirement Home Washington, D.C. to refresh the “Anderson Suites” guest rooms used by residents’ family and friends when they visit. These six hotel-style rooms allow guests to stay right on campus with their loved one and at much lower cost than nearby hotels (the closest being 15 minutes away).
We are incredibly proud of the results and wanted to share them with our donors and volunteers who made this, our largest project to-date, possible.
AFRH took care of paint and carpet, and the Foundation did the rest—new furniture, mattresses, drapes, lighting, bed and bath linens, artwork, and other supplies. The refreshed suites welcomed guests just in time for Thanksgiving.
Special thanks to AFRH staff members Annemarie Wilson, Ron Anderson, Teresa Luttrell, and Mahera Marshall who planned the project and provided sweat equity to get it done in time for Thanksgiving!
And to our supply partners who helped us choose furnishings and provided generous discounts:
Saatva - mattresses
Best Hotel Products - furniture and drapes
1Concier - bed and bath linens
