Ice cream to celebrate summer

The Old Soldiers Home Foundation was glad to send an ice cream truck to the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Washington D.C. for residents and staff to enjoy at their Backyard Summer Celebration on Jun. 21, 2021. The gathering was a much-needed escape from the COVID-19 pandemic where everyone was able to gather together outdoors to enjoy a beautiful summer day. Nursing staff were able to take a break from their duties to socialize with residents outside and enjoy a cold treat. We can’t say enough thank yous to the healthcare professionals that take care of our veterans.
